Venessa Hernandez

MPJ, Sergeant, USA

Sergeant Venessa Hernandez is a native of Bellevue, Wash., and enlisted in the United States Army as a Combat Documentation/Production Specialist in 2005. Hernandez reported for basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., in Aug. 2005.

Following graduation, Hernandez attended advanced individual training at the Defense Information School on Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

In 2006 Hernandez received orders to report to Hohenfels, Germany, to serve as a combat training videographer and producer with the Joint Multinational Readiness Center.

In 2008, Hernandez received orders to report to the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera), Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. In 2010, Hernandez deployed to Joint Combat Camera Iraq to provide the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division and other units with photographic support during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Hernandez’s awards and decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, and three Army Achievement Medals.

Following graduation, Hernandez will be returning to the 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera).
