Nicholas McNaughton

MMM, Staff Sergeant, USAF

Staff Sergeant Nicholas McNaughton is a native of Carmel, Indiana, and graduated from Carmel High School in 1999. In November 2005, he enlisted in the Air Force and reported for Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Upon completion of Basic Training, he left for technical training school as a videographer at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. After graduating, McNaughton reported to the 30th Space Wing, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

In January 2008 McNaughton deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After returning from Afghanistan Nick was assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing, Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom. During his time in the United Kingdom Nick was responsible for creating video and radio broadcast stories, television shows and a multitude of other public affairs products including documentaries, print stories and crime scene photography.

In June 2010, Nick deployed to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti as the non-commissioned officer in charge of combat camera, Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa.

His decorations include an Air Force Commendation Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, and two Air Force Achievement Medals.

Following graduation, McNaughton will be assigned to the 1st Combat Camera Squadron, Charleston, S.C.
