Nathan Jones

Staff Sergeant Nathan Jones is a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from Doherty High School in 2005. Jones enlisted in the United States Army in 2006 and reported for basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C..

After three months of broadcast training at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland, Jones reported for duty at American Forces Network Bavaria in Vilseck, Germany. While in Germany, Jones served as a morning radio show host and produced extensive content for AFN.

Following his tour in Germany, Jones reported to Fort Hood, Texas and deployed with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for a yearlong tour.

After returning from Iraq, Jones reported to Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras to serve as the broadcast operations chief at AFN.

Jones’s awards and decorations include the Joint Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.

Following graduation, Jones will report to the Defense Information School at Fort George G. Meade, Md.
