Elizabeth McCoy


Sergeant Elizabeth McCoy is a native of Lake Los Angeles, California and graduated from Littlerock High School in 2005. Shortly after graduation, she joined the U.S. Army and attended Basic Training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

She then attended Advanced Individual Training at the School of Music in Little Creek Virginia as a 42R Army Bandsman. Her first duty assignment was with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC. She deployed with the 82nd to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

McCoy went to the Defense Information School in Fort Meade, Maryland and graduated as a 46R in October 2008. McCoy was then assigned to 3rd MISB (Military Information Support Battalion) (Airborne). She supported different battalions for multiple Audio/Visual products. McCoy deployed to Afghanistan where she produced many TV and radio products in support of the MISO mission for ISAF operations.

McCoy’s awards and decorations include a Army Commendation medal, two Army Achievement medals, a Meritorious Unit Citation, and a parachute badge.

Following graduation, McCoy will report to the Defense Information School to be an instructor.
