Bobby Yarbrough


Sergeant Bobby Yarbrough is a native of St. Joe, Arkansas and graduated from St. Joe High School in 2003. Yarbrough enlisted in Marine Corps in 2006 and reported for training at Marine Corps Depot (MCRD) San Diego, Calif. Following recruit training, Yarbrough reported to Marine Corps Base, Okinawa, Japan.

While serving as a combat correspondent in Japan, Yarbrough deployed to several countries in the Pacific including the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines. Yarbrough also served as the media relations liaison for the III Marine Expeditionary Force.

In 2009, Yarbrough received orders to Marine Barracks Washington D.C. to serve as a journalist at the Marine Corps' oldest post. During his tour, Yarbrough served as the primary photographer for the U.S. Marine Silent Drill Platoon, traveling throughout the world capturing the platoon's performances.

Yarbrough’s awards and decorations include the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Navy Unit Citation, and the Korean Defense Medal.

Following graduation, Yarbrough will report to the 2nd Marine Division in Jacksonville, N.C.
